My style philosophy: Embrace your uniqueness

Welcome to Biek’s Closet, where fashion is more than just clothes. It’s a way to show who you are.

This blog is a look into the experiences that shaped my style, from the advice I grew up hearing from my mom to the energy of the streets in cities like Amsterdam and beyond. Every place, moment, and outfit adds something new to the way I see fashion.

Here, fashion is about confidence, individuality, and having the freedom to wear what you want. No strict rules, no perfect formulas. Just personal style, real inspiration, and the fun of expressing yourself through what you wear.

Where inspiration strikes

My journey into fashion started by watching the different styles around me and during my travels. Every city has its own vibe and way of dressing, and seeing that up close really inspired me. From street style to everyday outfits, I love picking up small details from different places and mixing them together.

Fashion, to me, is about taking inspiration from everywhere, adding your own twist, and wearing it with confidence. This space is for people who love style, want to experiment, and aren’t afraid to express themselves through what they wear.

The power of confidence and a little ego

My mom always taught me that confidence and a little bit of ego are essential when it comes to personal style. It means not worrying too much about what others think. If I like something, that’s reason enough to wear it. Style doesn’t work when you walk around feeling insecure. When you carry yourself with confidence, people naturally see you that way. I’m often told that I come across as confident, and even though I sometimes question it myself, I’ve learned that projecting that energy makes all the difference.

Dressing different: A personal statement

For me, 'dressing different' means not trying to fit in. Wear what you want, and you'll already stand out because everyone has unique tastes. I love combining various styles: beanies, hats, caps, printed pants, and all sorts of layering, sunglasses and jewelry. It's about expressing who you are through your wardrobe.

"The way you dress is the way people think of you. If you look comfortable and good, people will take you more seriously."
